How This Calculator Works
- What does this calculator do?
- It divides the amount in the vial by the concentration you want, giving the millilitres of water to add.
- Basic formula
- Water to add (mL) = vial amount (mg) ÷ desired concentration (mg/mL).
- Example
- A 10 mg vial at 2 mg per mL needs 5 mL of bacteriostatic water.
- Check the label
- Always use the amount printed on your own vial label, and follow the supplier's storage instructions.
